2020 A year to remember. 2021 what’s next?

2020 was a year of challenges, transformations, and learning to flow day by day with what we have. It taught us to value what we have without longing for more of the same. We learned that with less, we have more. It was a strange, curious year, which changed our way of seeing life, the world, and our vulnerability. We understood that each one’s change can be beneficial, we understood that life could (and must) switch to much less consumption.

Sustainability was a primary theme this year; not being able to go out and consume in the same way reconnected us with other generations’ habits and reinforced them, returning home, to the center, to the natural, to the close. Understand that the planet breathes when we are not pressuring it, that it is beautiful to explore and that we must conserve it.

Our dynamics also changed; new ways of living, working and relating to each other arrived. They isolated us to meet again, and they pushed us to the limits of effort. We had to work from home, meet friends in virtual ways, celebrate from afar, miss contact, and appreciate smiles. We are learning little by little that with less, we have more.

Many things in our daily life have changed so suddenly that it has cost us a bit to get back into a rhythm. It is normal to go slowly if you do not feel safe, make sure not to stop; because this world does not stop, and we must adapt, grow, learn, and continue giving the best of ourselves. 2020 has taught us lessons that we will never forget. What will remain in 2021?

2021 is a year full of expectations, even when we already know that the OMS announced that social isolation and the use of face masks would take place until at least 2022. We have all our vision set on more technological revolutions, from developing a vaccine that has given us a light of hope to meet again soon. This new year brings with it technological and industrial revolutions never seen before, and we learned to reinvent ourselves and not standstill. We learned to move with the flow and understand new needs that the world and humanity continue to scream. We value our belongings differently, and we reconnect with experiences.

In 2021 we will seek to get out of the new reality every day to collect with the essential, with the roots, with the earth. 2021 will be a year of experiences, of travel, of creating community, of taking care of ourselves, putting our health and well-being first, of finding an ally that will help us lead a more conscious life, and we are waiting for you.

From GMH Hotels & Resorts, we invite you to continue maintaining these healthy habits with yourself and the planet that you explore while you are. Nothing would give us more pleasure if you did it with us, that you risk living with us an experience of luxury and respect for nature, to know a tribe that cares about the emotional and physical well-being of its community. We are going for 2021, full of surprises, experiences, and gratitude.
